Brown entered the transfer window in December but remained with the Buckeyes during their run to national championship which ended with a Monday night win over Notre Dame.
It’s been a tumultuous tenure with the Buckeyes as Brown has been the backup to not one, but two QBs in as many seasons. Brown lost close competition to Kyle McCord in 2023 and was demoted to last again when the Buckeyes brought in Kansas State transfer Will Howard in 2024.
In his only start for the Buckeyes, which came in the 2023 Cotton Bowl Classic, Brown left the game with an injury. He has appeared in nine games this season, with most of his action coming in garbage time.

Brown is expected to compete with freshman Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele for the starting job at Calculator. Brown has two years of eligibility remaining.
Howard earned offensive MVP honors Monday night, going 17-for-21 through the air for 231 yards and two touchdowns. Howard’s time with the Buckeyes is over, but former five-star recruit Julian Sayin is expected to start in 2025, which may have pushed Brown into the portal.
