Why boxers crave the return of Max Kellerman in the comment cabin together with Lampley

Nostalgic boxing fans are glad to see former HBO commentator Jim Lampley, who will comment on by Blow-by-by-dbylow for Ring magazine, which will be returned to a triple header on May 2. Some also hope that Max Kellerman will return.

Kellerman worked for HBO for many years until they stopped broadcasting boxing in 2018. It would be interesting to see Kellerman returning because he is no longer with ESPN. He was one of the guys who were having fun, especially with Lampley.

Dream team?

What I liked at Kellerman is that he had Howard Cossell Say it as if it were an attitude where he was not afraid to give his thoughts. Cossell was the best, but Kellerman was a good light version.

In some ways, Kellerman is desirable than Lampley because it speaks faster and can generate statistics from past fights. He is like a a human computer. On the negative side, he was stiff and not as humorous as another HBO commentators, like Roy Jones Jr. -ai George Foreman. The two were great.

The younger fans know only Kellerman about his work on ESPN, joining with Stephen A. Smith, which was not a good pairing. They missed the chemistry that Kellerman had when he was with the HBO crew. During the first few episodes, ESPN should have noted that putting Kellerman with Stephen A. was a bad move. Someone is needed with a sense of humor and is interested in the foil to work. Kellerman made it all wrong because of this kind of work. It’s not theater enough.

Lampley was more intellectual, so he and Kellerman were a good team when they were with HBO. Fans who remember the show are missing the old crew they had. Karst fights were not always great in later years, but Kellerman, Lampley, George Foreman, Roy Jones Jr. And Larry Merchant made him fun. Kellerman came in when the merchant left the team, which was strange at first.

Setting 2. May 2

– Ryan Garcia Vs. Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero
– Devin Haney against Jose Ramirez
– Teofimo Lopez Vs. Arnold Barboza Jr.
