The South Korean court canceled an order for the arrest of President Yoon Suk-Veol, running the way for his release from prison after being detained for imposing a martial arts law.

“It is reasonable to conclude that the indictment has been filed after the detention period of the defendant has expired,” the Seoul District Court document said.

“In order to ensure procedural clarity and eliminate any doubt regarding the legality of the investigative procedure, it would be appropriate to make a decision to cancel custody,” the court added on Friday.

“The Rule of the Law of South Korea is still alive,” Yon -La’s legal advisor said after the court’s decision, according to the Ytn South Korean television.

Local media said that Yoon is expected to be released and participate in his trial while out of custody.

However, Seok Dong-Hyeon, Yoon’s lawyer, said prosecutors can still appeal the judgment of the court.
