The Columbia University Student sues Trump’s administration for endangered deportation
Korean American student of Columbia University, which is a legal permanent American resident and participated in a pro-Palestinian protests, sued the administration of US President Donald Trump on Monday to prevent her deportation, a court claim showed.
Yunseo Chung, 21, has lived in the United States since he was seven, but her legal team was informed two weeks ago that her lawful status of permanent population was confiscated, according to a court of court in the US District Court for southern New York County.
Trump’s administration says its presence is now interfering with his foreign policy plan, according to a lawsuit. Chung has not yet been arrested. Immigration agents performed multiple visits to her residences looking for her.
Actions against Chung “make up part of a larger pattern of attempted US Government Representation Constitutionally protected protest activity and other speech forms,” the lawsuit said on Monday.
“Government repression particularly focused on students who speak solidarically with the Palestinians and who are critical of the current military campaign of the Israeli Government in Gaza.”
The spokeswoman for the US Ministry of Internal Security (DHS) was allegedly behaved with behavior, including when police arrested her during a protest at Barnard College, who called DHS “Pro-Hama”.
DHS spokeswoman did not further develop the specifics of this behavior in question, but said that “she was looking for a removal procedure under the immigration laws” and that she would have the opportunity to present her case before the immigration judge.
Trump has committed to deport the foreign protesters and accused them of supporting the militant group of Hamas, to represent obstacles for American foreign policy and that they are anti-Semite.
Protesters, including some Jewish groups, say that the administration mistakenly connects their criticisms to Israel and support to Palestinian rights with anti -Semitism and support with Hamas. The advocates of human rights condemned the Government moves.
