Rwanda interrupted diplomatic ties with Belgium on Monday and expelled all Belgian diplomats from the country. The statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Rwanda says that the European nation “consistently undermined” Kigali “during the current conflict in the Democratic Republic of Congo.” Belgium called this measure “disproportionate” and expelled Rwanda’s diplomats in response.
