Hojlund found the back of the network in Sunday’s 3-0 victory over Leicester CityTreating running from over 22 hours of action without scoring, to finally insert his third goal of the Premier League campaign.
While many moved to defend Hojlunda claiming that young and raw days did not receive the appropriate support of those around him – a point that undoubtedly had some value – Hojlund himself acknowledged that he missed the demands from the request UnitedLeading striker.
“I think it comes down to my performances too,” he said. “I don’t think I was at the top of my game as I wanted and still adapt to the new system and some new positions.
“But I think I’ve grown into it lately and I started looking a little better. But I’m just happy to find on the list and I’m sure it will come more now. I’m happy, but it’s not all in the goals. I’m obviously very happy to get my goal and it gives me a lot of confidence. I think we start a little more relationship between myself and who are more and more than them.
“I develop and start understanding their qualities and that is what the manager wants. He wants us to play our forces and now we start even better.
“He also wants me to stretch the terrain. I think it’s quite obvious, and to draw me into the channels and keep keeping the central back.

“I experience it as a good step in the way, but I just want to continue to improve and continue to be better,” he admitted. “I know I’m not a finished article, but I just want to continue to continue to get even better. I’m sure I’ll be even better and get even more goals if I just focus on it.”
