State Secretary Marco Rubio defended the president Donald TrumpAir attacks on Houthhi rebels in Yemen, claiming that now “makes a world of affection” aiming to a militant group.
“We do the whole world of service by getting rid of these guys and their abilities to appear global delivery. This is a mission here, which will continue until it is done,” Rubio said during a performance at CBS on Sunday.
Comments come after Trump has announced on social networks on Saturday that he ordered “determined and powerful” air attacks against the Houthhi rebels in Yemenclaiming that this terrorist group “led the relentless campaign of piracy, violence and terrorism against Americans and other ships, aircraft and drones.”

“It’s been over a year since the commercial ship under the influence of the US has safely sailed through the Suez channel, the Red Sea or the Aden Bay,” Trump said in the post. “The last American warship that passed the Red Sea, four months ago, attacked Houthis over a dozen times…. These ruthless attacks cost American and world economy much billion dollars, while putting innocent lives at risk.”
“To all Houthhi terrorists, your time has expired and your attacks have to stop, starting today. If you don’t, hell will fall on you like nothing you have never seen before!”
The strikes come in response to Houthis’s continuing transit disorder in the Red Sea, something Rubio said he would end with strikes on Sunday.

“This is not a message,” Rubio said. “This is an effort to deny them the opportunity to continue to limit and control their delivery.”
Rubio noted that a militant group, which is supported Iran“hit or attacked 174 Navy of the United States” during the last year, a time period in which the group also launched 145 attacks on commercial shipping vessels.
“So, basically we have a series of pirates, you know, with a precise combat weapon and demanding a toll collection system in one of the most important ships in the world,” Rubio said. “It’s just not sustainable.”

The Secretary of State said he would be hit as long as Houthi “no longer have the ability to” continue to carry out such attacks.
“We won’t have people sitting around with rockets attacking the US Navy,” Rubi said. “It won’t happen. Not under President Trump.”
