A New Jersey -charged man charged with a savagely killed his brother and kicked his eyeball tried to kill himself in his prison cell, he states New York Post.
Matthew Hertgen, 31, tried to hang himself at the Mercer County Center, just hours after a virtual court appeared in connection with the accusations of killing his 26-year-old brother under the report, citing the source of law implementation.
Hertgen was accused of killing his brother Joseph last Saturday in a family luxury apartment Princeton, allegedly with a knife and golf club. Police believe that Matthew may have run out of his brother’s eyes and tried to eat it, a source told the law enforcement New York Post.

He was also charged with animal cruelty after the family cat was set on fire.
Fox News Digital addressed the Mercer County Repair Center for more information about the suicide attempt, but did not immediately receive an answer.
The awakening of Joseph Hertgen was held on Friday, and his funeral should be held today by the Holy Luke of the Roman Catholic Church in Rijeka Toms, according to his obituary.

“He played in many sports teams, he loved to travel with his friends and always enjoyed the good game of Ping pong or chess,” the obituary writes. “He was such a kind person, he had a great love for life and his smile beautified every room.”
Princeton police initially responded to the call 911 22. February around 11:16 pm Reporting fire and dead body in the Michelle Mews apartment complex.
Upon arrival, the police revealed that Matthew Hertgen, who was determined to be a 911 caller, was in a residence, along with his brother’s body, “showed signs of blunt force trauma and distribution,” Mercer said in a statement to the public.
Authorities have not yet described any motive associated with Hertgen accusations of murder.

Matthew Hertgen shared some disturbing, graphic poetry on his Facebook profile in September and May 2024, which described the blood that ridiculed from the eyes and “knives of sharpness”.
One of the friends of Matthew Hertgen from Toms River High School told Fox News Digital that “there is nothing wrong to say” about the former football player, who studied at Wesleyan University in Connecticut. Joseph Hertgen also played football in Toms River before recruiting at the University of Michigan.
Daniel Gotlin of Gotlin & Jaffe in New York told Fox News Digital that he knew that the Hertgen brothers would be very smart, but added that Matthew “obviously” had some “mental health problems.”
Gotlin, who was not involved in the Hertgen case, successfully tried to defense for mental health in 2014, while representing a man accused of Fatally stinging mother. He believes that Matthew’s public veterans will consider acknowledgment for the madness for a 31-year-old suspect, which would ensure that he is held in custody for a mental health institution, not a prison, and if he is not determined not to be a threat to society.

“There is absolutely no doubt that he has a phihiutic disorder,” he said. “I don’t know what kind of physical evidence they have about it but if [prosecutors] You have a good case, you have to look at psychiatric defense. “Gotlin believes that” it is very little probably that this guy will see the light of day “if she should commit to the mental health institution.
