PGA Tour Golf: Karl Vilips earns the first victory for Mark Tiger Woods and secures a late place for players on the Open | Golf news

Karl Vilips secured a Last-minute invitation to players and became the first golfer to win PGA Tour, wearing Mark Tiger Woods with an impressive victory on the Puerto Rico.
Vilips, making his fourth start to the PGA TOUR and the third since he was professional, fired a brilliant eight under 64 in the last day at the Grand Reserve Golf Club to finish the week 26 floor and ask for a three-goal win.
The 23-year-old became an ambassador for brand for Woods’s “Sun Day Red” brand, and the first won PGA Tour, wearing clothes, and Vilips received messages from the former world no. 1 during and after a career victory.
“It was difficult because after the circle I was dealing with the phone and I just moved, like who sent me SMS?” Said Vilips after his victory. “I got one of the random numbers he called me.
“Then she followed a speech mail that said she was Tiger and that at an instant I couldn’t like to process, just trying – I’ll be back to that later. That’s pretty cool.
“I signed it [deal with Sun Day Red] Three weeks ago, so shortly afterwards Sun Day Red Player got a win. I think it’s really special. I think this shows me that there is a reason why they chose me to repeat their brand and I’m just happy to do it as I do. “
The Australian’s victory earns him a place in players on TPC Sawgrass and PGA Championship in May, along with a two -year exemption at PGA Tour.
“I’m simply excited to sleep in my own bed, cook my own meals, be with my colleagues,” said Vilips – who lives in Jacksonville – about players. “It will be a lot of fun. He never really had the opportunity to make a home tournament.
“Obviously, he just moved there in November, I played a bunch course. It looked really good. The last time I played three weeks ago, so I’m sure it is in a pristine form and I’m really excited.
“That was a big goal, I wanted to get into the players and I knew I had to win this week to do it. It’s just a dream I can play in that tournament.”
Vilips responded to the sensational charge of Rasmus Nergaard-Petersen from Denmark, which captivated six straight holes to start the back nine and closed with 63. He briefly took the lead when Vilips made a beep in 12. holes with a wedge from a fertile path.
Vilips never blinked while the bird was the next three holes, including a smart ground for installing a bird on the fifth pair hole to regain the lead before a five-foot bird at the next.
The winning margin of Vilips in the last hole over Nergaard-Petersen, while Joseph Bramlett finished five shots in third place, and the amateur Kieron Van Wyk shared fourth place with Steven Fisk.
