Pakistani forces continue to operate hundreds of hundreds from the abducted train | News of transportation
Pakistan says 155 hostages have been rescued, but another 300 is seized on the train by the Balochistan Liberation Army.
Pakistani security forces said they had saved 155 travelers from the train that had abducted separatist forces, as surgery for the release of hundreds of more continued.
On Wednesday, the army launched a major surgery against a separatist from Balochistan’s liberation army (Bla) who seized the train of the previous day. About 300 hostages stay on board, the officials said.
The train, which carried about 450 passengers, including military staff, was attacked while traveled through the remote southwest area of Balochistan, for which Blare is the independence of Islamabad.
Security forces acted with caution, and prisoners were surrounded by mud fighters carrying explosive vests. At least 27 rebels were killed, the officials added.
The number of victims among the soldiers, passengers and fighters of the rebels remains unclear.
Black took responsibility for the attack, saying that she was open to negotiations to replace the prisoners. It also threatened on Tuesday that he would start hostage, unless Baloch political prisoners, activists and missing persons, who he said had abducted them within 48 hours.
There have been no Government’s response to an offer or threat so far.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned the attack. Government spokesman Shahid Rind described it as a “act of terrorism.”
Balochistan’s disputed terrain
The mud fighters blew up the railway line and opened fire on a train in a remote Sibi district while traveling from Quette, Balochistan’s capital, Peshawar in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province.
Balokistan rich in oil and minerals is the largest and least inhabited province of Pakistan. It is the center of the ethnic minority in the country, whose members say they face the discrimination of the central government.
Bla claims that natural resources in the region exploit outsiders and increase the attacks that were targeting Pakistani as well as from other regions.
Violence has increased along the western borders in the region with Afghanistan since the Taliban regained their power in 2021.
Blare made deadly attacks on trains and buses. In November, a separatist group performed a suicide bombing at the Quetti train station, which killed 26 people.
In February, the Blaci fighters killed seven rifle passengers after being ordered from the bus.
Chinese infrastructure and citizens around the Arabic Sea were also targeted.
Pakistan and the United States have appointed Blans, which are estimated to boast about 3,000 fighters as a terrorist organization.
