I turn off to be so long outside – Mark Wood
In the official statement issued by the Cricket for Cricket in England and Wales (ECB), it was mentioned that Wood was excluded from all criskets four months after the scanning, and the subsequent surgery confirmed the damage to the ligament on the left knee.
The ECB also revealed that Express Pacer managed a knee problem for over a year, but experienced increased rigidity and discomfort during the Conflict in Afghanistan.
In the meantime, Mark Wood said that he was excluded from the cricket for a long time and thanked his surgeon, doctors, staff, teammates in England and coaches for their support.
“I stopped to be so long after I represented England in all formats since the beginning of last year,” Wood said. “But I have every confidence that I will return to all the cylinders now that I was able to solve my knee.
“I want to thank a surgeon, doctors, staff, my teammates and coaches from England for their support – and, of course, our fans. I can’t wait to come back and contribute to what will be huge 2025 for us as a team. “
Mark Wood is not part of IPL
The Wood that has been excluded from the cricket for four months will not have an impact on the Indian Premier League (IPL) because it is not part of any franchise in the Marquee T20 League.
He registered for a mega auction, but he could not go in the narrow selection on the final list, because the Committee on Cricket of England and Wales (ECB) did not approve the night to present himself in the league.
Meanwhile, Mark Wood will now work closely to the ECB Medical Team on his rehabilitation and recovery, and will have a goal to return to the competitive cricket by the end of July 2025.
