This is a natural rivalry. This stems from the rivalry between their fathers.
Benn-Eubank was just the biggest rivalry ever. I remember growing up, entering boxing, I was probably eight years old when they first fought out of my way from me in Nec Birmingham in 1990, and I only remember that everyone talked about the fight.
They were both superstars and I guess because they had each other. You need a boxing partner in boxing. They had each other and couldn’t be different personality, different styles of fighting, so they were literally perfect rivals.
Who has won Mind Games so far between Eubank Jr and Benn?
Chris Eubank JR achieved its purpose. Benn broke. He irritates him. He has to lose his mood. He definitely won one -up, if you want to call it.
EUBANK JR has achieved its purpose, but at the same time, it works for Conor Benna because he wants to be discharged and uses anger to motivate him and push him for training.
It’s all that fire in the abdomen, but ice in the mind. You need to have a passion, know that this is the biggest struggle in your life to motivate you, but you cannot let it overcome you and escape with you and become too emotional, put in too much because you will burn a bunch of energy and you will not make the right decisions. That could be significant. But his father’s time was undefeated and Eubank Jr didn’t look as good in recent performances as a few years ago.
Athletic attributes that he served him so well, his beard, durability, probably his two best assets. They obviously decrease as you become older.
I do not think that his resistance to the blows is as he was, and of course his durability will not be as he is, and also descending in weight, increasing, returning to weight, making 160 pounds, medium weight, I think he will truly hurt Chris Eubank, JR at this stage of his career.
So who wins?
The time is crucial in the fight. There is a lot of unknown. Can Benn transfer power to medium weight? He had a few fights at Super Welterweight, but it wasn’t so dynamic. Eubank Jr, what’s left? We don’t really know the answer.
