Women’s lawsuits say science fiction author Neil Gaiman repeatedly sexually attacked

A woman of New Zealand filed a lawsuit against British author Neil Gaiman and his wife Amanda Palmer, claiming that Gaiman repeatedly sexually attacked her as she worked as a nanny and nanny couple.

Scarlett Pavlovich filed a lawsuit, together with two separate lawsuits, named only by Palmer as a defendant in Wisconsin, Massachusetts and New York on Monday. Laws by Massachusetts and New York who named only Gaiman’s wife were filed for “uncertainty about Palmer’s state of stay,” the lawsuit said. Pavlovih’s lawyers will be “spent against Palmer only in the district of her choice.”

Associated Press does not identify people who say they have been sexually attacked if they are not publicly identified. Pavlovich identified himself in an interview with New York magazine, which published an article in January in which they detailed the allegations of attack, abuse and forced by eight women.

Pavlovich claims she was homeless and lived on the beach when she met Palmer in Auckland in 2020. Pavlovich was 22 at the time.

Details of a lawsuit

According to the lawsuits, Palmer invited Pavlovich to the New Zealand home on the island of Waiheke. Pavlovich began to lead orders for the couple, guarding his son and helping in jobs, eventually becoming a nanny couple.

Gaiman first sexually attacked her at the night they met in February 2022, lawsuits said. The attacks continued, but she continued to work for the couple because she was broken and homeless, and Gaiman told her she would help her write her career, according to lawsuits.

When she told Palmer about the attacks, Palmer told her that in the past a dozen women had told her that Gaiman had sexually abused them, the lawsuit said.

The attacks did not stop until Pavlovich told Palmer he would kill himself, lawsuits said. She left her family and became homeless again, although the documents say Gaiman eventually paid her for her work, taking care of the child’s child and helped her cover for a few months.

Palmer knew about Gaiman’s sexual desire and introduced Pavlovich to him, knowing that he would attack her, according to the lawsuits. Pavlovich states that Gaiman and Palmer have violated the bans of federal trafficking people and asks for at least $ 7 million.

Gaiman replies

After the article of the New York magazine was published, Gaiman published a statement in January, denying that he had ever dealt with the non -consensual sex. The allegations of four women were previously broadcast in July in the turtle podcast.

“I’m far from a perfect person, but I’ve never dealt with non -consensual sexual activity. Ever,” Gaiman reported in a statement about His website.

Representatives of Gaiman and Palmer did not immediately respond to the comment on comment on Monday, and internet court records did not list the lawyers who represented them in the lawsuit. Pavlovs’s lawyers stated in Podnesci that Gaiman, author of such bestsellers as Koralin and Sandman The series, is a resident of Menomonie, Wis. But they are not sure if Palmer will stay in Massachusetts or New York.

Pavlovich told the New York magazine that she had submitted a police report in January 2023, accusing Gaiman of sexual abuse. Police did not confirm whether Gaiman had ever been under investigation.

Gaiman has collaborated with numerous publishers over the years. Two of them, Harpercollins and WW Norton, said they did not plan to publish his books in the future. Others, including Bloomsbury, have rejected a comment so far.

Dark Horse Comics announced in January that he would no longer post his illustrated series based on the Gaiman novel, Anansi guys. The seventh of the eight editions was published earlier that month.

Disney paused the planned adaptation of Gaiman’s A book in the cemeteryWhile Netflix was still supposed to announce the second season based on Sandman. Netflix has previously announced that the series will end after that season.
