US Open 2025: Leading player LIV Golf League to get an exemption for a major in Oakmont in June Golf news
One Liv Golf League player will receive an exemption for this year’s organizers of the US tournament.
The top player, who is not exempt and is in the first three of the Saudi Breakway rankings on May 19, will earn a place on the field in Oakmont from June 12 to June 15.
The top 10 players on the rankings on April 7th will also be released by local qualifications for the third major championship of the year.
The exception of direct entry will change to two players 2026, and the top player from the last 2025 ladder is acceptable with the second player based on the 2026 points in the spring.
The main officer of the Usga -e John Bodenhamer said: “Usga continues to evaluate the paths that exist to ensure that those who play their best have the opportunity to compete in our national championship.
“In accordance with our historical approach, we are continuously evaluating the level of talent on professional tours and at amateur events, which led us to add a new category of exemptions.”
Liv Golf CEO Scott O’Neil welcomed the move.
“We are glad that the USGA has formally created a new exemption for players LIV Golf, who will compete at the US Open -Us to appreciate Mike What’s lead and dedication to grow Golf’s game,” O’Neil said.
“Every golf fan in the world longs to see the biggest players in the world competing on the biggest golf stages on the Majori. Liv Golf is dedicated to working with golf management bodies to raise sports in all parts of the world.”
None of the other majorettes currently offer a direct place via the LIV ladder, although Joaquin Niemann received an invitation to Masters 2024 and 2025.
Niemann and Sergio Garcia also allegedly received an invitation for the US PGA Championship in the USA.
