PCB President Mohsin Naqvi is not present at the final presentation ceremony
According to the GEO News report, it is expected that the President of the PCB Mohsin will attend, but he could not travel to Dubai for health reasons.
However, the CEO of PCB (COO) and the director of the Sumair Ahmed Syed tournament was present at the finals in Dubai, but ICC did not include it in the presentation ceremony. Many viewed this decision as a deliberate snub.
“The chairman could not travel, but Coo Sumair Ahmed Syed was there and attended the finals. He should have been on stage to represent PCB,” a source close to that issue said.
In the meantime, ICC spokesman told India Today that only the bearers of the PCB Office could attend the ceremony after the match and that no one was present in Dubai.
“Mr. Naqvi was not available and did not travel. According to the understanding, only office carriers can be called to a trophy presentation, so with PCB he was not available in the office. And they (PCB) were hosts, they should have been there,” said ICC spokesman.
Former Australian captain Aaron Finch brings a trophy to stage
The ICC Jay Shah president presented the champion trophy to the winning captain Rohita Sharmi, while President BCCI handed over the white Blazers to the Indian team. The report added that ICC had complete authority in deciding on the composition of the presentation party for the Trophy Championship finals. However, the control body has not yet published any official statement regarding the controversy.
“According to sources, ICC had full authority to decide the composition of the presentation party. They have not yet issued any statement on the issue,” the report added.
Pakistan failed to beat any match on the 2025 champion trophy.
