Unnata Sharma presses gold in female -63 kg; strengthens the Uttarakhanda medal


Unnatna Sharma performed a star performance at the 2025 National Games, providing a gold medal in the woman -63 kg Judo category in Monal Hall, MPSC, Dehradun. Uttarakhand Judoka beat Himshshi Tokas from Madhya Pradesh in a fiercely challenged final.

While the Tokas fought hard, she had to agree with a silver medal. Talha Fayaz of Jammu & Kashmir and Irengbam Kalpana Devi from Manipura provided bronze medals in this category.

On the second day of Judo competition, February 11th experienced intense battles in different divisions in weight, and athletes from different countries tend to finish the podium. In the men’s category -81kg, Punjab’s Harshpreet Singh dominated his struggles, securing a gold medal with a commanding performance. Haryan’s Narender fought strongly, but he had to be pleased with silver, while Abhishek Chaudhary and Aakash Paradh from Uttar Pradesh shared bronze.

In the -70kg female category, Haryanin Garima Chaudhary became victorious, adding another gold to her country. In the finals, Himachal Pradesh, such a such such, beat Inangganbi, while Monika Hood from Haryana and Devikrishna VS from Kerale took home a bronze medal.

Category of men -90kg marked the conclusion of the event of the day, and Bharam Kumar Vats Madhya Pradesh provided gold. Ayay Kumar from the services made a humorous effort, but he had to settle for silver, while Ningthoujam Sheetal of Manipura and Rajat Singh Chib from Jammu & Kashmir claimed bronze.
