The Minister asks the Tate Brothers to leave Romania
Romanian Minister of Justice Rad Marinesca invited the public explanation why controversial influences on social media Andrew and Tristan Dad on Thursday were allowed to leave the country.
Brothers – who are currently facing accusations, including the trade of people in Romania – were under the ban on traveling more than two years before being abolished, allowing them to fly to the US.
Marinescu asked a special prosecution service, Dilcot, to “conduct every investigation needed to detect the truth.”
Andrew, 38, and his brother Tristan, 36, strongly denied allegations against them.
The brothers are double US nationals from the UK and the first arrested in Romania in 2022.
They are accused of trading people and forming organized groups to sexually use women in Romania. Andrew Tate is also charged with rape.
In the United States, they also face a civic case from a woman who states that the brothers forced her to have sex work and then slandered her after giving evidence to the Romanian authorities.
The brothers also face separate accusations in the UK for rape and trade in people.
They spent several months in home custody in Romania, before prosecutors announced on Thursday that they had been abolished traveling, and US passports in pairs were returned to them, although investigations of their alleged crimes were not rejected and expected to return to Romania.
Their exit, however, caused concern that prosecutors felt the political pressure of Trump’s administration. On Thursday, the US president said he did not know anything about their release.
The Romanian Minister of Justice said that the Tate brothers “risk before prison” if they did not return to Romania to face a continuous investigation in cases against them.
“There are legal mechanisms to resolve this situation,” Marinesca said, which could be a reference to the extradition agreement between the US -Ai Romania.
The call comes that many Romanians express concern that there seems to be one law for rich and influential and others for ordinary citizens.
