Cronan added: “The court was flooded with the Cooper Union proposal that Jewish students should have hidden up or leave the building or that the locking door of the library was enough to make its obligations entitled VI.”
The title VI of the Civic Rights Act prohibits discrimination of races, colors and national origin for any activity or program that receives federal funding.
He also emphasized that the state laws of the New York state “provides comparable – if not greater – protection against discriminatory harassment in education from the title VI.”
