The best prosecutor Manhattan resigned after a warrant for rejecting corruption against NYC mayor

The best federal prosecutor in Manhattan resigned after ordered by the Ministry of Justice to reject the corruption charges against the Mayor of New York.

A spokesman for the American Lawyer for Southern District of New York (SDNY) confirmed on Thursday Danielle Sassoon’s resignation.

She comes four days after the acting deputy Attorney General Emil Bove sent a letter to Sassoon to dismiss the case against New York Mayor Eric Adams. Prosecutors at the Sassoon Office have not yet submitted a formal proposal to reject the case.

The Ministry of Justice did not immediately respond to the commentary request.

Adams, a former police captain, has been charged with illegal contributions to the campaign and bribe of foreign nationals, including lavish foreign trips. He is facing a conspiracy charges, wire fraud and bribery in an oath indictment in five issues last September.

Adams, a Democrat who made relations with US President Donald Trump, declared that he was not guilty.

The southern district, known for its high cases of financial crimes, corruption and national security, has long been known for its independence from the Washington Ministry of Justice.

It was not immediately clear who would take Sassoon’s place.

New York Mayor Eric Adams charged with bribe, fraud

New York Mayor and former NYPD official, Eric Adams, has been charged with five federal charges related to allegations of taking illegal campaigns and bribe of foreign nationals in exchange for the service.

Half a dozen former SDNY prosecutors told Reuters that he was a Bove’s command, and the former SDNY prosecutor himself, who was also a Trump lawyer for personal criminal defense, asking the office whether the office could remain independent of political pressure during Trump’s second term of white house.

In his memorandum, Bove said that the decision to reject the case had nothing to do with his merits. Instead, he wrote that the case was distracted by Adams to help Trump to break an illegal immigration, one of the main priorities of the Republican president.

Trump has reversed the Ministry of Justice to end what he calls weapons against political opponents during the administration of former Democratic President Joe Biden, but for whom critics say that he will threaten to undergo political germs.
