PGA Tour Golf: Scottie Scheffler One Off off, as Rory Mcilroy, goes to a feud at Genesis Invitational | Golf news

Scottie Scheffler broke into second place to Invitational Genesis, while Rory Mcilroy moved into a quarrel with a strong other circle in San Diego.
Scheffler hit only five waterways during an atypically inconsistent circle, but still managed to cite a five-point 67 to move to seven below, one of the leadership held by Davis Thompson after 66.
McIlroy, who won Pebble Beach last time, aligned Scheffler’s effort on a day to move within three of the leadership.
Five birds northern Irish in eight hole from the third triggered it in the claim, but this followed three consecutive fives – two of which were Bogeys.
A great approach at 15. He brought his second back of his back to nine, and even better a two-meter wedge in the penultimate hole returned it back to five, but could not use a par-hopy.
“Today, and yesterday, in difficult conditions, I played well and in a good place I go to the weekend,” McIlroy said.
“I have to play the fume better. I didn’t make a bird at any of the fins on the back nine. I only played a few fifths in one, especially when the golf course is played like this as hard and you have four few fives, you really need to use them.
“I didn’t really do that today, but I made up for it in other areas, but I have to play them a little better during the weekend.”
Starting at 10. Scheffler turned two birds and added the second in a third of three, before blowing the eagle three in the sixth place 547 Dvori Bauk.
“I will definitely try to be a little more on the board tomorrow,” Masters Champion said.
“I felt that today was the day I survived without driving the ball and I would need to drive it better in the last few days.”
Thompson leader shot the best circle of the day to take over the lead, and eight birds – including two in the last three holes – helping him up to 66.
McIlroy’s teammate Ryder Cup Ludvig Aberg threw out a bunker shot for Eagle on his way to the appropriate Thompson 66, which left him in fifth place in four below.
Ireland’s Seamus power descended to equalize for the eighth to two below the disappointing 73.
Aaron Rai is also in a group on two below, and colleague Englishman Tommy Fleetwood shot further after his impressive 68 helped him recover from a bad opening.
