That, instead of continuing his chase for the record domination of Super Bowl Tom Brady and set an unprecedented mark by winning three consecutive championships, Mahomes passed. And not only he went through because he was betrayed by a team, but because he played badly and not anyone, including himself, expected.

So, yes, bitter disappointment.
And do you know how, in the midst of all that defeat and failure and disappointment, Mahomes acted in the moment?
Like a champion.
He took his beating, as did all Kansas City bosses in that 40-22 finals, which was not really as close as a result, and then dealt with as an adult. Like professionals.
Like the winner.
Mahomes sought an opponent’s striker Jalen Hurts, shook his hand and congratulated. He also did his best with several other winning players from Philadelphia, including the offensive difficulties of Lane Johnson and then fled the field.
Even Tom Brady didn’t wear well

No big things?
Tom Brady did not squeeze the hand of Nick Foles after Eagles in Super Bowl beat Patriotse. Kyle Shanahan did not squeeze Andy Reid’s hand after Super Bowl a year ago. It’s a classic thing, but sometimes pain and frustration of the moment wipe the veneer of good sports management.
Because the loss of these games hurts. A lot. And Mahomes now lost two, including one for Brady at Super Bowl LV.
“Um, I mean, they both suckled,” Mahomes said. “No way to do it. Whenever you lose super bowl, it’s the worst feeling in the world. They will stay with you by the end of your career.
“I mean, it will be two losses that will motivate me to be even better by the end of my career, because you only get so few of them, and you have to use them, and they are hurt probably more than winning to feel good.”
Let it marinate it for a moment.
Losses cause a greater permanent feeling than victory. Yet, in the midst of such a personal emotional cataclysm, Mahomes came to the podium to face journalists and answer 14 questions or so with patience and class.

He talked about Jalen Hurts won.
He spoke about Travis Kelce may be retired.
And he addressed his rough exit, actually taking responsibility for loss.
“I threw two intercepts,” Mahomes said. “I threw a pick-six and I threw a selection that returned to the 5-meter line, and they scored immediately after that, so when you give teams 14 points, especially a really good football team, a football team Super Bowla, then it doesn’t happen lots of good things.

But what about rough times?
Where was the God of the attacker on Sunday night while he was fired six times? And where did this mess of the game left Mahomes and his expressed faith?
The answer to both questions is exactly where everything was before the game.
God apparently allowed the chiefs to take him on his beard. They say that failures are setting up for a great return. I believe it is somewhere in the gospel because Jesus suffered an unspeakable punishment on the cross on Friday and died, but it did not remain so long.
Sunday’s big victory must have come.
In the meantime, Mahomes thanked God after losing to Kansas City. He thanked God “for every opportunity he gave me.”
This does not change the fact that eagles were better. This does not change the fact that Mahomes went home with L.
But neither did that loss change the fact that Mahomes took a failure like a champion.
