“It’s a funny theory for anyone who can take it seriously,” Goodell said on Monday. “This reflects many passion for fans, and I think it is a reminder for us how important the official is. And I think men and women who serve in NFL are extraordinary.”
The union that represented the NFL officials later announced a statement in which he thanked Goodell and called allegations that the official crews were biased for the benefit of the chief or any other “insult and nonsense” team.
