Buffalo Bills striker Josh Allen has erected a double winner Lamar Jackson to be appointed NFL’s most prized player (MVP) for the 2024 season.
Allen, who led Buffalo to the fifth title of AFC East, received 27 of 50 votes for first place – from the National Council of Media Members – to Jackson 23 and finished with 383 points.
Jackson, who led the Baltimore Ravens to the second flat AFC North championship, received 26 votes for second place and one fourth for a total of 362 points.
Philadelphia Eagles, who ran backwards Saquoon Barkley finished third (120 points) and followed by Cincinnati striker Bengals Joe Burrow (82) and Detroit Lions QB Jared Goff (47), with this year’s MVP race Ryan beat Tom Brady in 2016.
The award was presented at the Star Ceremony organized by hip-hop artist Snoop Dogg at the Sanger New Orleans Theater, ahead of Sunday Super Bowl between Kansas Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles- Live on Sky Sports.
“I appreciate it,” Allen said after being crowned MVP. “I think there are several guys on my team that appreciate it even more than I am. This award is not why I play this game.
“I obviously want to be recognized as great in what I do and one of the best in what I do, but I still want a Super Bowl. That is our goal. But I will say this, this award means that your team has had a lot of success.
Allen threw on 3,731 Jards, 28 Touchdown and had six types for 101.4 passers -by during his 2024 campaign. He ran 531 yards and 12 results, becoming the first player in NFL history to have had five consecutive seasons with at least 40 Touchdown.
Jackson had a high career with 4,172 Jard, 41 Touchdown on only four intercepts and 119.6 passers-by, led by NFL and saw him appointed NFL All-Pro-leap.
The last time the first-team All-Pro did not win the NFL MVP Award was in 1987, when John Elway was MVP that season, and Joe Montana was the first-team All-Pro, and the MVP award was awarded to the player who had the most valuable season and all -Pro statistical recognition.
