Manchester United reveals incredible expenses of short remains of Ashworth day
The latest financial figures of Manchester United show that former sports director Dan Ashworth received a payment of £ 4.1 million despite working on Old Trafford for only 159 days.
Details were discovered this morning when a three -month United accounts were submitted to the New York Stock Exchange.
It is already known that United paid £ 10.4 million in damages to former boss Erika Ten Haga and his coaching staff when the Dutch was dismissed in October, just three and a half months after signing a one -year extension of the contract.
Expensive mistake?
But the employment and cracking of Ashworth was noticed today with the huge cost of his short stay at the club.
Ashworth started on United on July 1, 2024, spent five months at gardening at the former Newcastle club, and only after Sir Jim Ratcliffe solved a long-term compensation battle with Tyneside Club after agreeing to pay £ 5 million.
He was discharged on December 8, shortly after United suffered a 3-2 defeat at home to Nottingham Forest, while cracks continued to appear in the United squad in which Ratcliffe invested in much of the summer.
The revelation that Ashworth cost the club £ 9 million before paying salaries comes at a bad time for Ratcliffe as it continues to undopular cost reduction measures.
Over 200 people have become superfluous since Ratcliffe bought 27.7 percent of the minority share in United in February last year.
Today’s data has also found that the revenues of the broadcast fell by 42.1 percent from the year to £ 61.6 million because the club missed the Champions League qualification this season and competed in the Europa League instead.
Berrada focuses on positive results
United Executive Director, Omar Berrad, insisted that there are still reasons for optimism – emphasizing the positive work at the club – and emphasized that the main priority was to improve the results on the field, and the United men, which was sitting in 15th place in the Premier League.
