Eftmios Lekkas, head of the State Organization for Planning and Protection of Earthquakes, said Greek national television that the earthquakes move north, far from the island, according to Associated Press.
“This can take a few days or a few weeks,” he said. “We are not able to predict the evolution of sequence in time.”
This is that the unpredictability of the earthquake has driven people from the island – no one can safely say if hundreds of small earthquakes mean on the way to the bigger Temmblor.

Experts told the French AFP news agency that the region has not experienced such an intense seismic activity since the records began in 1964.
Santorini has been sitting on a volcano that has not erupted since 1950, but the Committee of the expert said on Monday that the current earthquake rash was not “associated with volcanic activities”.
