Joy Behar Slams America is “named after a white man”

The co -organizer “View” Joy Behar went to a place where America was named on Thursday as co -organizers talked about President Donald Trump, who renamed the Gulf of Mexico.
“This country we settled are indigenous people, did they still call the country in the Italian white man, Amerigo Vespucci. That’s why America was named, Amerigo Vespucci, white European,” she said.
“Why did he get the name after a white man if he was native to him?” Behar continued.
The co -organizers talked about Trump’s White House, which on Tuesday banned Associated Press from events in an oval rejection office to use the term “US Bay” in accordance with President Trump Renaming executive order A water body between the United States and Mexico.

Co -organizer Sara Haines said the renaming of water bodies is relatively common.
“The water body south of China, which most of the world calls the South Chinese Sea, Cinema calls it the South Sea, calls Vietnam the Eastern Sea, and the Philippines have determined it by the sea of Western Philippines,” she said. “So that happens.”
Behar then made an argument that Trump should not focus on rencing the water body.
“But why does he care about it when prices go to eggs?” she said. “People did not vote for renaming Gulf of Mexican. “

“Plastic straws and American bay, give me a break,” the liberal co -organizer added.
Executive editor of AP -and Julie Pace said the exit was forbidden to attend Trump’s signature of the White House of the Signing of Executive Orders.
“It is alarming that Trump’s administration will punish AP for its independent journalism,” Pace said. “Limiting our approach to an oval office based on the content of AP speech not only does it seriously interfere with the public access to the public with independent news, but obviously violates the first amendment.”

The co -organization of Alyssa Farah Griffin said she had no problem with renaming and claimed that it was more inclusive.
“I don’t hate renaming American BayAnd I’ll tell you why. This is an including expression. It is North America, Mexico and the United States are part of America. It would be small if he called him “the Gulf of the United States,” she said. “These are what Donald Trump does to launch a media reaction.”
