Brazilian teenager Joao Fonsec became the first player born in 2006 to win the title of ATP Tour Singles, while underlining his status of one of the most promising tenis stars.
The 18-year-old defeated Francisco Cerundola 6-4 7-6 (7-1) in the Argentina Open final, which was the result that made him the tenth youngest champion of the ATP Tour history and raised him on the 68th. On the world rankings in front of his home event in Rio de Janeiro this week.
