Jasprit Bumrah responds to claims of ‘advised bed rest at home’ for Champions Trophy appearance
As the cricketing world prepares for ICC Champions Trophy 2025concerns about the Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah have escalated following reports suggesting he has been advised to rest due to ongoing back problems. The news has fueled discussions about his availability for the tournament, which starts on February 19.
Concerns over Jasprit Bumrah’s injury
Bumrah’s injury problems have been a matter of concern since his impressive performances in the recent past Border-Gavaskar Trophy vs Australia. Despite bowling exceptionally well and hitting 32 runs in the series, his workload seemed to have taken a toll on his physical condition. According to multiple reports, Bumrah experienced swelling in his lower back, leading to medical experts recommending complete rest until the swelling subsides.
“Bumrah might go to the CoE next week, but there is no fixed date yet as of now. At home, he was advised bed rest to allow the muscles to recover and the swelling to subside. Once this is done, a further course of action will be determined,” a BCCI source said, according to TOI.
The statement underscored the seriousness of Bumrah’s condition and the cautious approach taken by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
