The Council is tasked with seeking immigration and customs implementation (ICE) for training and strategies that will strengthen participation in the Agency 287 (g) program.
It will also be responsible for providing recommendations in several areas, including the award of the necessary financial assistance to local law enforcement, improvement of information exchange from local and state agencies to federal data centers and how to create multiple detention beds for ICE.
Desantis said on Monday that the Sunshine State “sets the standard” to implement immigration and how the states can help Trump’s administration to fulfill its promise to stop illegal immigration, Deport the illegal aliens and guard American citizens.

“On Thursday, I signed a bill on Florida to become the strongest state in the country to implement immigration. Now we are implementing this new legislation. Illegal immigration is an emergency and we don’t have time to wear,” Governor wrote on X.
Larry Keefe was nominated for the Committee’s executive director at a cabinet meeting on Monday by the newly appointed State Attorney General James Uthmeier. Desantis, Uthmeier, head of the State Financial Director Jimmy Patronis and Commissioner for Agriculture Wilton Simpson form the rest of the committee.
