Expanding the west coast campaign, Israel sends tanks for the first time in decades

On Sunday, Israel announced that he expanded his weekly military operation against armed Palestinian groups on the occupied West Coast and that he had first deployed tanks in the north of the territory for the first time in two decades.

Adding escalating tensions, the Minister of Defense in the country, Israel Katz, said that tens of thousands of Palestinian residents who left the centers of militantness directed by Israeli surgery and displaced within the West coast will not be allowed to return to their homes.

Israeli actions followed after Bombs exploded on three buses On Thursday night in different parking warehouses in the suburb of Tel Aviva. At least one other explosive device was discovered and dismantled. Police are still investigating, but they said the devices resemble improvised bombs made on the west coast.

The buses emptied the passengers before the explosion, which did not cause injuries. But the explosions equalized the Israelites, remembering deadly bus bombings in the mid-1990s and early 2000s, and the country was put on a warning of terrorism.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu immediately called for a “mass operation” on the west coast, after weeks of what Israeli army describes as a campaign to remove militant groups and prevent terrorist attacks on Israeli civilians. Israel reversed his attention to centers of militance on the north west coast, because his campaign against Hamas in Gaza collapsed.

Speaking at the School of Training Military Officers on Sunday, Mr. Netanyahu said that the troops would remain on the west coast “as needed” and that sending tanks for the first time in decades meant one thing: “We fight terrorism with all the means and everywhere. “

On Friday, Mr. Netanyahu and Mr. Katz, the Minister of Defense, rarely visited the area known as a refugee camp in Tulkarem, one of the packed districts in which refugees that fled or expelled during the 1948 war that surrounded Israeli creation and their descendants were their descendants located.

The area, one of the focus of insulting Israel, is nominally under the supervision of the Palestinian administration, a body that has a limited power in parts of the western coast.

The Israeli military operation in several cities of the western coast displaced approximately 40,000 Palestinians from their homes, in what experts say it is the biggest movement of civilians In the territory of the Arab-Israeli War of 1967.

The army denies that there was any forced evacuation on the West Coast. Military spokesman, Lieutenant Nada Shoshani, recently said that in some cases they were ordered to leave certain buildings close to militant hiding places, but that people are generally allowed to move neonnain.

About 3000 people managed to return to the al-Faraa camp, near Tubas. But the Palestinians said that the colors of the concealed Israeli attempt to permanently be thrown out of their homes and executed greater control over the areas governed by the Palestinian administration.

Mr. Katz said in a statement on Sunday that 40,000 Palestinians had left two areas of refugee camp in Tulkarem and the third in Jenin, and that they were now “emptied by the inhabitants”. Mr. Katz added that UNWRA, the main agency of the United Nations, which provides assistance in camps, is no longer functioning there.

“I ordered the army to prepare for a long stay over the next year in cleaned camps and not allow the residents to return to terrorism to return,” he added.

The Palestinian Administration Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Sunday, saying that he felt that Mr. Katz’s statements were, along with the arrangement of tanks and what she described as the intimidation of unarmed civilians, as “dangerous escalation.” It said Israel tried to insert a forced displacement policy on the west coast.

The Ministry called for international intervention to suppress what described as Israeli “unverified aggression” and “to soak Israel to stop the attack on our people and their fundamental right to remain on their country.”

The official Palestinian news agency, WAFA, reported on Sunday that 27 people were killed during the Israeli campaign in Jenin, which began more than a month ago, and that more than 100 homes had been demolished. Israel, on Sunday, destroyed the streets and electricity and water lines in Qabatija, south of Jenin.

Asked how long the inhabitants can be kept from their homes, Mr. Katz’s spokesman, Adir Dahan, said everything was “subject to a security situation.”

The Israeli army refused to comment on the issue and asked questions to the Ministry of Defense.

However, the army said in a statement that it expands offensive activities to other cities in the Jenin area on the northern west coast and that the tanks department will operate in Jenin. The army announced that her forces had caught 26 suspects for terrorism over the weekend and seized three weapons and other weapons.

The Israeli army says he lifted the roads to expose explosive devices planted below the surface.
