Everton was supposed to have a MAN UTD sentence for MatthiJs de Ligt shirt on Ashley Young, says Dermot Gallagher | Football news

Everton was supposed to hold a last minute penalty for Matthijs de Ligt shirt to withdraw Ashley Young during the draw 2-2 with Manchester United, said former Premier League judge Dermot Gallagher.
INCIDENT: There was a huge late controversy at the Goodison Park, where Everton was awarded a stopping sentence to have the opportunity to win in his match against Manchester United – just for Var to intervene.
Andy Madley was sent to the screen and changed his mind. He studied contact from Harry Maguire on Young – but did the officials miss the shirt from De Ligta?
Dermot says: “For me, the best solution is to stick to the judge and VAR -and not to turn on. Once Var is turned on, he has set numerous problems that they didn’t really need to increase.
“I think the judge gave a sentence against Maguire. I don’t think Maguire failed him, but De Ligt got to his shirt long enough to give a sentence.
“Ref said Var gave a punishment because he thinks Maguire pulled his shirt. Var looked and said no.
“If he sees an offense that he thinks is a punishment for which he can give punishment. Most of the penalties given that the refes are not seen on the ground is what the var spots that refrect does not belong to the same carrier.
“They wandered so much by looking at Maguire One, De Ligt washed.”
‘Madley never showed the right angle of var’
More than Dermota Gallagher on Ref Watch:
“The best angle is from the goalkeeper’s gaze, through the net, and you see that De Ligt pulls him.
“What they showed him was that [side-on] angle over and over again.
“If the refes were shown through a net corner, he would have caught up with his decision.”
Warnock: Var Double Standards have been misunderstood
Sky Sports News’ Steven Warnock:
“In the same game, you got a concrete goal through which those forensic pass. They seek three or four incidents to delete the goal or find something wrong with it.
“I feel like we look at the goal every time we look at why the goal is off – he’s in the video, but okay, was there anything else there?
“You look at the punishment and say why you don’t look at every corner? Three pictures showing the judge are the first incident where you can only see Harry Maguire.
“Transfer him, head to your back, and we all sat at home, asking where the one behind the goal showing that the Matthijs de Ligt T -shirt is withdrawing.
“If they just watch Harry Maguire, they are completely wrong.
Sky Sports News’ Sue Smith:
“There are a lot of very frustrated events after this game. First of all, why Var got involved, it’s not a clear and obvious mistake.
“We have seen that there is no offense from Maguire, but there is a clear shirt from De Ligta. Some said young diving, but he must go down and otherwise do not make a decision.
“If he doesn’t do it, he doesn’t get a punishment.”
