Rangers: Barry Ferguson has appointed the main coach by the end of the season after the release of Philippe Clement | Football news

By the end of the season, the Rangers appointed former captain Barry Ferguson.

He will be joined by former players Neil McCann, Billy Dodds and Allan McGregor who also returned to the club as coaches, together with Issame Charai – who was appointed former assistant chief Philippe Clement last month.

Rangers also confirmed that the new permanent manager will be appointed in the coming months, while a football review continues.

Clement was discharged on Sunday after 16 months and coaches Alex Rae, Colin Stewart and Stephan van der Heyden were also leaving.

Throughout his two spells in Ibrox, Ferguson won the five best titles, five league Cups and five Scottish Cups.

As a manager he had spells in Clyde, Kelty Hearts and Alloa Athletic, as well as Blackpool Caretaker.

His first excavation match will be on Kilmarnock on Wednesday – Live on Sky Sports.
