Rohit Sharma will lead the Indian team in the 2025 Champions Trophy

The fearless opener faces considerable pressure after struggling with the bat during the recently concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy, where India lost 1-3. His poor form saw him sit out the final Test against Australia, with Jasprit Bumrah stepping in as stand-in captain.

Rohit’s next international engagement will be the upcoming ODI series against England. His main focus is the 2025 Champions Trophy, where he is expected to lead India. This could potentially be Rohit’s last ICC event, with India looking to add another title to their cabinet after winning the 2024 T20 World Cup.
