All-rounder Venkatesh Iyer got injured while playing for Madhya Pradesh in the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2024-25 match against Kerala. The match between the teams is played at the Greenfield Stadium.
Venkatesh Iyer twisted his ankle while batting for Madhya Pradesh in the ongoing match against Kerala. The all-rounder came into bat after his team was left reeling at 50/4. He was expected to pull his team out of trouble and take them to a fighting total. But things didn’t go as he wanted.

Iyer got injured after three balls. The all-rounder twisted his ankle and fell to the ground. He looked in immense pain as he limped off the field. He had to go back to the pavilion after scoring just 2 runs and didn’t come to bat again as things didn’t look serious.
With the way Iyer was limping, things looked serious and if it was an ankle injury, the recovery could take up to 6 weeks. This means that he will be ruled out of the ongoing match, followed by the next round of Ranji Trophy 2024-25, which will begin on January 30, and it will be a big blow for Madhya Pradesh.
His injury could also shock the Kolkata Knight Riders management with the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 around the corner. The all-rounder was bought by the franchise for a whopping ₹23.75 crore and if he doesn’t get fit, it will be a big blow for the team.
