US Secret Service Traps Armed Criminal Traffickers Linked to Foreign Prison Gang, Cartel: Cops
Three ex-convicts – including the self-styled coordinator of a migrant smuggling operation – have been arrested in an operation targeting members of a transnational gang, according to Texas Department of Public Safety.
Arturo “Tadeo” Ramirez Manzano, 27, Mario Ivan Ramirez, 21, and Corina Hernandez, 30, all of El Paso and all convicted felons on federal probation, were all charged with felony counts of unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon and manufacturing/ delivery of a controlled substance on Friday, agency he told KFOX 14.
Two guns and almost a kilogram of cocaine was arrested by Texas DPS agents while executing two search and arrest warrants at a Lower Valley apartment complex in El Paso, the outlet reported.
Ramirez was identified in the recent shooting and additionally charged with felony discharge of a firearm with deadly conduct, according to KFOX.

Authorities said Ramirez admitted to being a member of the Paisa prison gang and serving as a key coordinator in human smuggling operation led by La Empresa operating between Mexico’s Ciudad Juarez and El Paso.
All three are currently behind bars at the El Paso County Jail awaiting trial, according to KFOX.

The US Border Patrol’s Alien Smuggling Unit and the Texas State Patrol assisted in the DPS investigation. Texas DPS could not be immediately reached.
