‘Throw away less, save more’: DOGE club member throws out extensive bill package ahead of Trump’s inauguration
FIRST ON FOX: Sen. James Lankford, R-Okla.is passing several new laws to help carry out the mission of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) once President-elect Donald Trump takes office.
Senator’s six bills he would target telecommuting for federal employees, require agency guidelines to clarify that they are not laws and mandate early notification before new major policy proposals from federal agencies, among other measures.

“The American people gave Washington a mandate in November – spend less, save more. Today I’m introducing the first set of laws that will fulfill their mandate by prioritizing streamlined regulations, rulemaking and recordkeeping. It’s time to put government waste in the doghouse and let DOGE start working,” Lankford said in a statement to Fox News Digital.
DOGE was previously announced Trump, who has tapped billionaire Elon Musk and former presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy to lead a new advisory board seeking to reduce government waste.

Several of Lankford’s DOGE bills focused on federal agencies and their perceived shortcomings. The “Federal Financial Management Improvement Act” would address the performance of agencies and evaluate their performance against their financial metrics.
A “TRUE accountability bill” would task agencies with coming up with plans for internal action should a crisis ever arise.
In addition, Lankford includes the “ACCESS Act,” which would prohibit minimum educational requirements for government contractor personnel during certain federal contract negotiations.
A slew of bills filed by the Oklahoma Republican are just the latest from GOP senators looking to get involved in DOGE.

The Senate DOGE caucus is led by Sen. Joni Ernst, R-Iowa, who has been a vocal critic of federal agencies, particularly their telecommuting policies.
Republicans have sought to introduce many bills before Trump’s inauguration with the hope of starting the process so that certain policies can be launched soon after he takes office.
