Crawford mocks Gervonta: “Scared” to fight Shakur and Keyshawn

Terence Crawford told Gervonta Davis on X to “stop being afraid” and take on Shakur Stevenson and Keyshawn Davis. The two are close friends of Crawford, so it makes sense that he’s trying to shame Tank Davis into fighting them.

Crawford’s protégé

Keyshawn has no fans and has looked terrible against Miguel Maduen and Nahir Albright. He showed no interest in fighting the Cubans Andy Cruzwho whipped him four times in the amateurs and made him look like a circus clown at the 2020 Olympics.

Tank won’t help Crawford’s gym mate, Keyshawn. If Crawford wants to try to make his friend Keyshawn a star, he needs to give him some courage to face the conqueror Andy Cruz.

Crawford tries to reach Gervonta after destroying him on X, saying:

“You all really think that he [Crawford] chasing greatness. He didn’t. That’s what he has to do to make a decent living.”

Tank Davis talks about Terence chasing paychecks, not greatness against Canelo Alvarez in Saudi Arabia. This is more about retirement money for Crawford. If he was really in his heritage, he would move up to 168 and prove himself first instead of begging for a fight.

Crawford has told fans that his rationale for moving up two weight classes to challenge unified super middleweight champion Canelo is for “legacy” purposes to become great, but Davis sees it as purely money-oriented.

Bud’s Bunch

That’s what Crawford has to do to make money because he can’t sell. Crawford’s last fight against Israil Madrimov reportedly brought in between 75,000 and 100,000 buys. Those are scary numbers. Crawford was NEVER a PPV draw like Tank Davis.

Lightweight contender Keyshawn Davis (12-0, 8 KOs) shares a tracksuit with ‘Bud’ Crawford. They are both coached by Brian ‘BoMac’ McIntyre.

A tank will not fight a boring Shakur Stevenson (22-0, 10 KO) because he is not a marketable fighter and would be dead weight for the promotion. Gervonta would bring in all the PPV buys and Shakur would just be there. Shakur is a boring fighter that people don’t want to watch.

I still don’t know why Eddie Hearn signed Shakura and thinks he can turn him into a “global star”. That doesn’t happen in the US

Maybe Hearn can make Shakur a star in the UK as their entertainment standards seem low. That’s why fighters like Tyson Fury, Anthony Joshua, Conor Benn and Chris Eubank Jr. so popular there. They would never be stars in the US You have to have talent to be a star in America.
