The prolific Bundesliga striker is responding to transfer links from Arsenal, Liverpool and Man Utd
Eintracht Frankfurt forward Omar Marmoush has insisted his sole focus is helping his current team “achieve something big” amid the ongoing transfer links with Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United.
All three Premier League the sides could use a new striker and Marmoush has made plenty of headlines this season with his 18 goals and 12 assists in all competitions for Frankfurt.
Only Harry Kane (14) scored more often than Marmoush (13). Bundesliga in 2024/25.
“There’s always a lot of speculation from the outside. But I don’t really have a particular dream goal,” the Egypt international, signed as a free agent after a dismal spell at Wolfsburg that ended in 2023, told the German publication. Sport Bild.
“What I can promise the fans is that I will give my best for Eintracht in every game. I am not thinking about a transfer. I live here and now and enjoy Frankfurt.
“Eintracht believed in me and put their trust in me. I want to repay that trust with good games and goals. However, I am not interested in what will happen in the further future. I want to continue to do my best so that at the end of the season we can to say as a team: we have achieved something great.”
Marmoush is now valued at €60m (£50m). Transfermarktan amount that jumped by 50%, compared to 40 million euros, in just the last six weeks since November.
Frankfurt sporting director Markus Krosche he said then that 40 million euros would not be enough to take away Marmoush, and now it could be significantly more given how his value has soared. The contract until 2027 also gives the Bundesliga side leverage in any potential transfer talks.
However, a sale for a club like Frankfurt not blessed with the riches of Europe’s leading clubs is inevitable as long as the right offer is made, Krosche also confirmed earlier.
“Ultimately, with many players who come to us, we offer them an environment where they can develop further – knowing full well that we would let them go if they were developing faster than the club itself,” he said.
“This is the deal we made with the boys. That’s why we have the opportunity to recruit so many exciting players, because they realize they can take the next step in Frankfurt.”
Referring to past contracts such as the transfer of Randal Kolo Muani to Paris Saint-Germain in 2023 for 90 million euros, he pointed out: “Such decisions must be made from a global perspective. It is not only about sports matters, but also about more – namely the club as a whole.
“We have a certain market value in mind for each of our players. And if a club comes along that pays for it, we will let the player go. We always try to be ready for this possibility.”
Liverpool it has been hinted that they will recruit ahead of next season, both in case Mohamed Salah leaves at the end of his contract and to push for the inconsistent Darwin Nunez. Meanwhile, Arsenal they have lacked a prolific ‘back nine’ since Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang left the club, and Manchester United’s limited firepower has also been touted well.
