The defendants were barred from entering DC, the Capitol building, by a transferred federal judge on January 6

A federal district judge on Friday issued an order barring certain defendants whose sentences have been commuted since January 6 from entering Washington, DC, or the US Capitol building.

In the filing, Judge Amit P. Mehta specified the order applied to “defendants Stewart Rhodes, Kelly Meggs, Kenneth Harrelson, Jessica Watkins, Roberto Minuta, Edward Vallejo, David Moerchel and Joseph Hacket” – whose sentences were commuted. Pardoners are not subject to the order.

The order states, “You shall not knowingly enter the District of Columbia without prior permission of the court” and “You shall not knowingly enter the United States Capitol Building or the surrounding areas known as Capitol Square.”

The filing says the order takes effect Friday at noon.
