The President of the United States Donald Trump has signed an executive order to stop funding and promoting gender crossings for LGBTQ youth.
In his order signed on Tuesday, Trump said that the Federal Government will no longer “finance, sponsor, promote, assist or support” gender transitions-which are also called care that confirms the sex of those over 19 years of age.
“The myriad of children soon regrets being crippled and began to realize a scary tragedy that they will never be able to conceive children or nurture their children breastfeed,” the order said.
“Furthermore, the medical accounts of these vulnerable young people can increase throughout their lives, as they are often trapped by lifelong medical complications, a losing war with their own bodies and, tragically, sterilization.”
Trump’s command includes a series of treatments and procedures for young people suffering from gender dysphoria-which describes the troubles that are felt by people whose biological sex does not match their gender identity-creating puberty blockers, hormone therapy and surgery.
The medical treatment of transgender young people was controversial and political division in the United States, where those who called for greater involvement of young LBGTQ clashed with those who express concern that minors were not ripe enough to make decisions about potential actions that change their lives.
The number of young people diagnosed with gender dysphoria in the US has increased several times in recent years, although only a relatively small minority has been undergoing medical interventions, according to various analyzes.

WPATH did not immediately respond to the comment request.
Gladd, one of the biggest LGBTQ organizations for the US Rights in the United States, has blown Trump’s command, describing his rhetoric as “awful inaccurate, incoherent and extreme.”
“The health care of transgender persons supports every major medical association. The uninhabited obsession of Trump’s administration by attacking transgender people and their health care does not reflect medical facts and does not represent the reality of trans people, young people and their freedom to be alone, and make their own health care decisions without discriminated against and lied, “he said is a gladd in a statement.
“The obsession of Trump’s administration comes at a high price for every American who wants the Government to solve real problems such as weapons violence, approach and abortions and growing costs.”
The main American medical organizations, including the American Medical Association and the American Academy of Pediatrics, expressed the support of care that confirms the gender, although several European countries, including the United Kingdom, Sweden, Denmark and France, have taken steps to return to treatments such as blockers puberty.
