Shane Gillis has a ‘pretty big prayer’ for Notre Dame ahead of the national title game against Ohio State
Notre Dame Fighting Irish football fan Shane Gillis prayed for his team to defeat Ohio State in the national championship on Monday night.
The comedian appeared in Under Armour commercial begs God to let his team win its first national title since 1988.

The Fighting Irish are in the national game itself for the first time since 2012, but an NCAA penalty for using ineligible players forced the team to vacate that season’s victories.
“Hey God. I’m Shane. I know I haven’t been here in a while, but I have a pretty big prayer for you,” he said in the ad. “Notre Dame is in the national championship on Monday. I know you know, because you were with us the whole time – a few weeks ago, that field goal. I know you have a lot, so it was pretty relaxed took the time to help us with it.

“I should also say that I didn’t bet on any of these games … Okay, I did, I did. But going forward, if Notre Dame wins, you won’t bet on games … for a month. A couple of weeks. I’m probably going to bet on Sunday.
“Come on, God. I know you can help us. Truck guys. Pick sixes everywhere. Maybe a couple of Fumblerooskies! Just make Notre Dame win the national championship.”
Gillis was in Notre Dame’s win over Indiana in the College Football Playoff quarterfinals.

He ribbed former Alabama Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban, who obviously he justifiably got angry with Gillis over complaints about SEC schools paying players.
