Pope Francis is “okay” but will stay in the hospital at least another week

Pope Francis “It’s okay,” because his medical condition is not life -threatening, but he is expected to remain hospitalized at least all the next week, his doctors in Italy announced on Friday.
Hospital Gemelli Dr. Sergio Alfieri and Francis’s personal doctor, Dr. Luigi Carbone, spoke while the 88-year-old Pope marked his First week at the hospital with pneumonia on top of chronic bronchitis.
“The pope is fine,” Alfieri told reporters on Friday, noting that Francis ordered he and Carbone to deliver the update.
Alfieri added that the Pope gets the same treatment as everyone with his condition.

The Pope receives occasional oxygen supplements when he needs and responds to a strengthened drug therapy he receives in the fight against pneumonia and complex lung infections, according to his doctors.
Francis deals with multiple infection of bacteria and viruses in the respiratory tract.

Doctors said there was no evidence that the germs had entered his bloodstream, which is known as sepsis for which they said they would be the biggest concern. Sepsa is a complication of an infection that can lead to organ and death failure.
Francis was admitted to the Gemelli Roman hospital on February 14th after the Bronchitis case was agreed.
Vatican At the end of Thursday, he reported on a “slight improvement” in Francis’ entire clinical condition, with his heart functioning well.

“The night went well, this morning Pope Francis stood up and had breakfast,” Bulletin added on Friday.
