Saquon Barkley appears to be gunning for the Giants in new ad after rushing for 2,000 yards
front Philadelphia Eagles‘ season finale against the New York Giants, Saquon Barkley may be trolling his old team with his new ad.
Barkley, who played six seasons with the G-Men before joining the Eagles last offseason he starred in a commercial for Unis, a sleeping aid.
But the ad released a cryptic message that may or may not be aimed at Giants owner John Mara, who infamously said he’ll “sleep rough if Saquon goes to Philadelphia.”

“I heard some of you have trouble sleeping, so I wrote you a lullaby,” Barkley said in the ad. “Rockabye baby, wake up in your bed with the thought of 2000 swirls running through your head. It must be hard to lose sleep over football – not for me though. Good night everyone.”
Well, that’s exactly what happened, and Barkley is putting up historic numbers with the Birds.
The Giants were introduced on the offseason edition of HBO’s “Hard Knocks,” and Mara made the now-infamous statement in a conversation with general manager Joe Schoen, who never seemed too interested in keeping Barkley, who was drafted second overall by his predecessor Dave Gettleman in 2018 order.
Barkley will be rested for the playoffs in Week 18, falling 101 yards short of becoming the NFL’s single-season rushing king and saving the Giants from further embarrassment. But he surpassed the 2,000-yard mark after rushing for 167 yards on Sunday, becoming the ninth player to do so.
Barkley admitted there’s a part of him that wants to break the record, but says he has a bigger goal in mind.
“He asked me if I wanted to play, if I wanted to go for it. On Sunday, I probably didn’t care too much about it,” Barkley said this week. “When I slept on it, it seemed like an opportunity to etch my name into football history. [I] he may never get such an opportunity again.

“So I’m down. But at the end of the day, I don’t care if I’m putting the team at risk.”
Instead, he’ll finish with 2,005 yards.
