MSNBC’s Joy Reid claims ‘billionaire entitled’ plans takeover after wildfires
MSNBC host Joy Reid claimed the “billionaire right” wants to “drive” non-whites out of state of California to make it an “apartheid” state in a speech on his show on Monday.
The host of “The Reid Out” made the outrageous claims during her opening monologue about wildfires ravaging the Golden State that have killed at least 24 people and burned more than 40,000 acres of land.
Reid accused “vulture capitalists” of invading middle-class communities, like Altadena, devastated by wildfires in a nefarious plot to buy properties for “pennies on the dollar” to eventually remake California with their “ugly right-wing policies.”

“They can drive out the Brown people and the Black people and the Asians, or just submerge them in the same apartheid that they created in Texas, and they will control enough electoral votes if they control California that they never have to worry about another presidential election,” the MSNBC host feared. .
Thousands were forced to flee Altadena after the Eaton Fire swept through the city, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake. AND Fox News Digital a tour of the evacuation area revealed that little was left of the city, with homes, businesses and cars mostly burned to the ground.
Reid argued that Republicans are critical of state DEI initiatives – which include cutting the budget of the fire department in LA for $17.6 million while throwing hundreds of thousands into programs like syringe exchanges for the homeless — to cover up their true intent to make California “like every other red state” where “immigrants, pregnant women, victimized girls and LGBTQ+ people live fear.”
“They can drill and blast California until the fires of last week pale in comparison. They can uproot all the forests and turn the land over to developers, like Florida,” Reid warned.
“Right-wing billionaires know they can’t take California – home to Hollywood, San Francisco and Kendrick Lamar – with culture. So they want to try to conquer it with lies, fraud and fire,” she concluded.

Reid claimed last week that President-elect Trump’s return to power was “the most violent in US history, arguing that after his election victory in 2024, “you can’t peacefully hand over power to a rebel just because it took them an extra four years to get the job done.”
