The Blue State is one of several defiances to Trump’s executive order on February 5, which prevents the trans -athletes to compete in maiden and women’s sports. Trump threatened Thursday that he would interrupt Federal financing of Maine Before the conflict with Mills this afternoon at a two -page Governor’s meeting.
“You better do it because you won’t get federal financing,” Trump told her.

“Enjoy your life after the governor because I don’t think you will be an elected official afterwards,” Trump said then.
On Friday, Mills posted a statement in which “the state of Maine will not be intimidated by the president’s threats.”
“If the president is trying to unilaterally deprive children of Maine School from the benefit of federal funding, my administration and the Attorney General will take all the appropriate and necessary legal proceedings to restore that funding and academic opportunity it provides,” she added.
