Meta Mark Zuckerberg explores the purchase of assets at Washington DC, according to two people familiar with this issue, as part of the push of a social media platform to form an administrative approach to Donald Trump to the technology sector.
Potential property has been identified, one of the people said.
This move signals the intention of Zuckerberg to work closely with Trump’s administration, people said, because it seeks a role in influenced by regulation in areas that are of increasing importance for business on 1,7tn from 1.7 hopes, such as artificial intelligence.
Zuckerberg already owns more real estate in California as well as the Hawaiian compound.
If the purchase is completed, Zuckerberg will join the growing group of technological titaniums seeking base near the White House, as the Silicon Valley establishes ties with the new president.
The Meta spokesman refused to comment.
