City are closing in on signing a deal with Lens Abdukodir Husanov after the French side accepted an offer of £33.5m. The defender now needs to undergo a medical and complete the necessary paperwork before becoming a City player. He is not the only arrival the Blues are approaching, as they have agreed personal terms with the Eintracht Frankfurt striker Omar Marmoush.
Fabrizio Romano reported that talks between the two clubs were “positive” at the weekend, with City keen to seal a move for the forward this week.
But it doesn’t look like it will stop there, with Football Insider reporting that funds have been made available for City to sign Aurelien Tchouameni from Real Madrid. The Frenchman has filled in at centre-back this season, having yet to win a starting spot in midfield, so City are keen to take advantage and may look to move in the summer, but face strong competition from Liverpool.
Man City are set to sign a £15m jewel
As the Blues now look at players to improve, according to a report from Spain, Man City were also planning to sign Jeremy Monga from Leicester City, a player who is thought to have an incredible future ahead of him.
Monga is just 15 and a product of Leicester’s academy, playing for their youth team before moving up to the under-18s. The teenager, who can play on the right side of attack as well as behind the striker, has been impressive in Premier League 2, scoring and assisting in several games.
His performances at academy level are attracting the attention of teams across Europe and this report has Man City battling Paris Saint-Germain to secure his signature. Monga is regarded as one of the best wingers of his generation and City are keen to secure his transfer ahead of his first professional contract.
His dribbling ability, explosive speed and his eye for creating chances and scoring goals put him on City’s radar. City are keen to bring him to their academy and are thought to be in a better position than PSG when it comes to winning the transfer race. It was previously reported that this could cost any side willing to sign Mongo 15 million pounds; that’s how highly the Foxes rate him.
