Those are fighting words.
House Oversight Committee turned into chaos Tuesday after Rep. Nancy Mace, R-C., challenged Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas, to a fight.
“If you want to take it outside, we can do that,” Mace said.
The argument started when Crockett said “kid, listen” during back and forth on civil rights, women’s rights and transgender rights.

“Somebody’s campaign coffers are in trouble right now. So she’s going to keep saying ‘trans, trans trans’ to make people feel threatened and kid, listen,” Crockett said.
Mace erupted in anger.
“I’m not a kid! Don’t call me a kid! I’m not a kid. Don’t even start,” Mace said cutting Crockett off. “I’m a grown woman. I’m 47 years old. I’ve broken more glass ceilings than you ever have… You’re not going to do that. I’m not a child… If you want to get out, we can do that.”

The two talked over each other like Chairman of the Oversight Committee of the House of Representatives James Comer, R-Ky., tried to control the chaos as he hammered away.
“Order! Order! Order!”, the members could be heard saying.

Crockett later attacked Republicans, accusing them of attacking “the most vulnerable in our country.”
She said: “Trans people aren’t going anywhere. Just like when racists wanted to make sure black people would somehow be fired in this country. We didn’t go away either.”
Cats later took to X to continue his war of words with Crockett.

“I’m not a child. And if I wanted a physical confrontation, you would have known that. That’s not what this was,” she wrote. “I’m not going to be harassed by someone who wants to take away women’s rights while I’m teaching about civil rights. I’m not going to be harassed by someone who thinks the fear of rape is a ‘fantasy.’ This isn’t politics, it’s personal.”
Mace further attempted to clarify her comments in a statement to Fox News Digital.
“There was much speculation about my intentions during a heated debate on women’s rights earlier today on Oversight,” she said in a statement. “Let me be clear: I wanted to end the conversation so we could have a more constructive conversation, not fight. At no point was there any intent to harm anyone. I was just assaulted by a pro tr*ns man a few weeks ago and I’m still on to physical therapy for my injuries. I know first hand how the left is capable of causing real physical harm. Colleagues like I was today, I will not be belittled or invalidated – especially as a rape survivor I will always stand up for women and resist left-wing extremism that seeks to silence our voices and reject our rights.”

Crockett also reached out to Xu to address the exchange, writing in part: “Today I introduced an amendment to re-establish the Oversight Subcommittee on Civil Rights and Civil Liberties. My Republican colleague threatened to deal with me physically because of it. Bless her heart.”
Crockett’s office also fired back at Mace, arguing that it was clear that Mace was threatening physical violence against Crockett.
“It was clear that Rep. Mace threatened Congresswoman Crockett with physical violence as part of her performative, ridiculous meltdown,” Crockett’s office said in a statement to Fox News Digital. “Her spotty screed is an example of exactly why the House Oversight Committee needs to pass Congresswoman Crockett’s amendment to re-establish the Subcommittee on Civil Rights and Civil Liberties. Congresswoman Crockett ignored her obvious, desperate pleading — if Rep. Maca wants to raise money from behind a qualified black woman , he can try someone else.”

The scuffle between Mace and Crockett occurred on the same day that the House of Representatives passed the prohibition bill transgender athletes from participating in women’s sports in schools receiving federal funding.
Two Democrats in the House of Representatives voted together with the Republicans for the adoption of the Act on the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports. Reps. Henry Cuellar, D-Texas, and Vicente Gonzales, D-Texas, were the only Democrats to vote for the bill when it passed 218 to 206. Rep. Don Davis, DN.C., cast an “absent” vote.
