Louisiana government to attend Sugar Bowl, promises Superdome ‘completely safe’
Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry said Thursday he would attend Sugar bowl between the Georgia Bulldogs and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish following a terrorist attack that left more than a dozen dead in New Orleans.
The game was moved from Wednesday night to Thursday night after the terrorist attack. The game now starts around 4:00 PM ET.

Landry appeared on “Fox and friends” and the promised security will be difficult.
“Security will be tight,” he said. “We’re confident we’re going to get this game going. The Superdome is completely secure. Again, the FBI continues to pour resources into the state.”
Landry’s comments came as authority figures wanted persons of interest regarding Shamsud-Din Jabbar’s attack on Bourbon Street. He was the suspect who drove his truck into the crowd before being killed in a shootout with police officers.

15 people died in the attack and several were injured.
Before the attack, Jabbar posted videos on social media expressing his allegiance to the Islamic State. The FBI’s investigation has now expanded to multiple states, although the number of potential persons of interest remains unknown.
“FBI special agents and our law enforcement partners are currently executing numerous court-authorized search warrants in New Orleans and other states,” the bureau said in a statement. “The FBI’s evidence collection team continues to process the crime scene to carefully collect all relevant evidence.”

The FBI said it does not believe the driver acted alone. Investigators found a weapon and what appeared to be an improvised explosive device inside Jabbar’s truck along with other devices elsewhere in the French Quarter.
