Litton Das talks about being dropped from the Bangladesh champions’ trophy squad

Bangladesh published theirs Champions trophy team on Sunday morning and within hours Litton Das scored an unbeaten 125 off 55 balls for Dhaka Capital against Durbar Rajshahi in the ongoing BPL. During the innings, Litton surpassed Parvez Hossain Emon to become the second fastest Bangladeshi centurion in BPL history. However, Litton has struggled in the white-ball formats since the 2023 World Cup in India. In his last five ODIs, he has scored just six runs including three ducks. The exclusion of Litton Das from the Bangladesh Champions Trophy squad therefore came as no surprise.
Litton said after the performance: “The selection of the championship trophy was not under my control.” He added: “The selectors accepted the call. They decide who they play. My job is to play. I couldn’t do it. I think I was a bit upset about it. I have the same mindset before and after Today’s game is already over but is in the past, I will continue to work hard.
He also explained: “I got a clear message. Maybe not from the coach, but it’s easy to find out why I wasn’t selected in the team. I was dropped because I didn’t play. There’s nothing to hide about that. .Basically, normal.”

“I’m not there to prove anything to anyone”
Litton continued, “The fans will support me, but when I’m not doing well, people will be negative. That’s not really my concern.” He added: “I’m focused on what I need to do. I haven’t been playing well, so I have to improve my game. I’m not going to change overnight, so I have to keep trying. People will like it when the runs score.”
Litton, who had a poor start to the BPL season with scores of 31, 0, 2 and 9, started to make big contributions, asked about sending a message to selectors with a stunning hundred, Litton Das said: “I’m not there to prove I don’t think I’ve played well in the last several months.
